Today's lesson, Racism. If you see something written here that you’ve said or done, use it as an opportunity. Take it as a wake up call and make the decision to grow, change and be conscious of your own privilege. Remember, I am not a speaker for the entirety of a people. Use this blog as a reference tool, not as the one and only view on the topic.

One piece of language that I believe we need to rethink is the “Fake Ally.”
The very phrase is incorrect. If they are “Fake” they are not an ally at all. We are spending time talking about the people who claim themselves to be an ally while acting as anything but. So-If we already know that they are not an ally, why the need to call them faux?
They are not a faux ally, they are simply a bigot in ally’s clothing.
We also know that those who yell of their ally status the loudest, are the most likely to call our lives a “Cause” and use us as a status symbol. We already know this. We know this for sure. We see this each and every day. Why are we announcing that they are faux when they are simply, naught?
A self proclaimed ally who is nothing more than a bigot in fashion, doesn’t deserve their own “Bigot room.” They are simply bigots. Nothing more, nothing less. They aren’t different, special or misunderstood. They are simply, bigots. If a self proclaimed ally acts bigoted, they deserve a call out. Then, a release back into the bigot wild with no special tag attached.
