I have no proof that your “black” ancestors came from Africa at all, you’re right. But if you’re “black” ancestors are…

Um…you literally just made my point. This grand idea of “Just find out what your heritage is” is a LUXURY MOST OF US DON’T HAVE.

I am guessing that since you are so sure of who you are, you know your lineage? I, and many people like myself, aren’t just to lazy to seek it out. It isn’t that we don’t WANT to know. It is that those records DON’T EXIST.

In this idyllic world you live in, we would have some semblance of a paper trail explaining exactly who we are and what is in our bloodline. That is NOT something all Black people have. It just ISN’T.

Also, I didn’t forget anyone. The simple fact that YOU brought up those of Caribbean Heritage actually goes against your original “Black = African” point. Unless you can find the missing records of every single Black person in America, you don’t get to make grand statements inferring that you are somehow entitled to know what someone’s heritage is. You certainly shouldn’t be using words like “Rude” like you did in your first reply, when talking about this subject KNOWING that some of us don’t actually have the OPTION to just “Find out who we are.”
