Today's lesson, Racism. If you see something written here that you’ve said or done, use it as an opportunity. Take it as a wake up call and make the decision to grow, change and be conscious of your own privilege. Remember, I am not a speaker for the entirety of a people. Use this blog as a reference tool, not as the one and only view on the topic.

Reasons black people should still be mad:
This list could go on but really why bother because…
“Black people being angry about slavery” is mostly bullshit. That is a fear and excuse of non-black people. Sure, there are some black people that will bring up slavery but most of us don’t because again, why bother? If you were to sit down with one of the Old Money Millionaires and he agreed with each and every word you said, that does not mean that he is suddenly going to say “Here’s your money, here’s your education, here’s your health care, etc.” It’s not going to happen. Not ever. We aren’t sitting around talking about it because there really isn’t any point.
With that being said, why aren’t more people upset about how little it shows up in history books? Why hide it? What would we do about now?
No, “Slavery” seems to be the thing white people like to use as an excuse. “Black people are still mad about slavery. They think they are owed something.” Well, are we REALLY mad about it or is that just your justification for being a racist? THEY are angry so I get to treat them like they are irrational. It’s them, not me that is bad.
Then the ongoing fears of “White slavery” that has seemed to pop up since Barack Obama became President. Again I say, REALLY? You are afraid that the 13% are going to turn you into slaves? REALLY?
To that I say, thanks for thinking we are so powerful. If only you could make up your mind. Are we lazy or are we so powerful that we’re going to turn you into slaves?
Personally, when it comes to slavery, the only thing I would like is representation in the History books. The true history. That’s it. Sadly, to many of the people holding the pens feel that what I want, is asking to much.
Even in a blog called “Racism School” you are likely only going to see slavery as a topic today. Not because it isn’t important to know about but because I feel like we have to deal in the here and now. If this were a history class, there would be a HELL OF A LOT more details on slavery. Since this is just a blog, it will likely only get a day and the entire purpose of this day is to show you how NO OKAY it is to either use slavery as justification for your racism or to show that the bullshit line of “My ancestors were slaves too” is just that, bullshit.
